NOT APPRECIATED

I am a thirty-five year employee of The Texas Youth Commission.I have done training for this agency for over 25 years of my tenured years.I decided to return to TYC and apply for the Trainer 111 position I held before my administrative seperation. The job was given to a younger less qualified white male.I am 60 years old .I am in good health. The position that I applied for.I was on the team that created the curriculm for the modules that the trainer teaches.I also taught the modules for over 2 years. The flimsy reason that I was given for not being selected was the way I answered the interview question, education and my 7 minute presentation.I have been been a manager of 9 trainers,I was asked to come out of retirement to pilot a Behavior Management I developed.I was sucessful with the program and was hired full time.I was Behavior Management Supervisor for TYCs Treatment Department from Oct.2005 until the TYC scandal occured.During my tenure as Behavior Specialist Supervisor.Mr.Cris Burton and I interviewed and selected 9 trainers to help train the training modules.I was a Trainer IV,a manager of trainers. My responsibility was to teach the newly selected trainers how to properly teach the modules and to help them develop Good Behavior Management Skills. This project was very sucessfull.Their were 9 trained Behavior Specialist assigned to 9 different institution. We taught Behavior Management and how to conduct a structered behavior group to every institution and halfwayhouse in TYC.The then troubled Evins Unit's assault on staff and student's incidents decreased after their staff was properly. The New TYC decided to delete this program. They said the program was to repetive and scriptive.TYC has yet found a program that had the sucess of this program,I was educated enough to help develop a sucess full Behavior Management Program,Help train a team of 9 sucessfull Behavior Management Specialists, train staff at all institutions for over 25 years, chosen to do special trainings for 3 Executive Directors. Now an interviewing panel of 3 white women tell me I am not qualified to train the modules I helped develop and taught for over 2 years. Two white Training Department Heads aproved the selection of the less qualified much younger white male. The requirements listed that a trainers of trainers was preferred. The person selected is not a trainer of trainers. This is how the new TYC shows appreciation for those that have given their ''ALL'' to MAKE THIS GREAT AGENCY one that has a history of setting the standard for Juvenile Corrections for all Juveniles Facility throughout this Nation. My name is David Davis. I feel that I am highly apreciated with the quality of training that I have been a part of delivering to the agency for many years. Thanks to all of you that have supported me and the trainers that I was a part of developing.
